Rules for Seasonal Challenge - Easy Grouping
The Scorekeeper last approved scores for this shoot on: 3/31/09
Shoot Begins: Thursday, January 1, 2009
Shoot Ends: Tuesday, March 31, 2009
Scores must be Submitted by: Friday, April 3, 2009
Rules:
Archers will shoot 3 ends of 10 arrows each at a distance of 20 yards. After each end is shot, the archer will determine which three arrows will define a "center" from which to measure a 3 inch radius (6 inch diameter) circle. Any arrow either in or touching the circle gains one point. Any shaft stuck in the frame of the butt or in the ground does not count even if "technically" inside the measured circle (i.e. the "center" of the circle is very low on the butt). Maximum possible score per end is 10, 30 for the entire shoot.
The purpose of this shoot is to practice grouping shafts. Any butt may be used and a target face is not required. All three ends must be shot consecutively. That is you may not practice between ends. This shoot will have two divisions, crossbow and handbow. Handbow includes all longbows and recurves.
NOTE: If there is a tie at the end of this shoot (one each for crossbow and handbow), there will be two week shoot off. The shoot off will be of a similar nature, slightly modified. If there remains a tie after the two week shoot off, the winners share the bragging rights!
