The Scorekeeper last approved scores for this shoot on: 8/25/08
Shoot Begins: Saturday, May 3, 2008
Shoot Ends: Sunday, August 31, 2008
Scores must be Submitted by: Monday, September 8, 2008
Rules:
Target: A cross, 24 inches tall, 4 inches wide. 12 inches from the bottom is the center of a cross member 2 inches tall, 12 inches wide centered horizontally on the vertical forming a cross. This target can be made with two strips of duct tape side by side for the vertical and a single strip for the cross member. It is recommended to use colored duct tape, i.e. red or blue, although grey works and is most likely quite plentiful! (If you are truly sadistic you could use clear duct tape. Just kidding!)
Scoring: 1 point for hit on the vertical. 3 points for hit on the cross member, this includes a hit where the cross member bisects the vertical.
Distances: 15, 25, 35, 45 yards.
End: Each end consists of 4 shafts untimed.
Divisions: This shoot will have two divisions, crossbows and handbows.
The shoot: The archers begin shooting at the 15 yard distance, shoot 4 shafts each then move to the next distance, continue. After shooting the first 4 shaft end at the 45 yard distance, the archers shoot a second end from that distance, then move in. Thus the shoot progresses 15, 25, 35, 45, 45, 35, 25, 15 yards each.
Example: Shoot first end at each distance of 15, then 25, then 35, then 45 yards. Then shoot a second end at 45, then 35, then 25, and finally 15 yards. Maximum possible score is 96 – perfect 12 at each of the 4 distances twice.
