Rules for SSAC - 24B-Golf

The Scorekeeper last approved scores for this shoot on: 6/17/24

Shoot Begins: Friday, March 1, 2024
Shoot Ends: Friday, May 31, 2024
Scores must be Submitted by: Saturday, June 15, 2024 and within 30 days of being shot.

Rules:
The goal of the Golf Shoot is to hit all of the spaces, your score is the spaces that are left un-hit. This means that a LOW score is better.

Distances:
The distance is:
Spring: 25 Yards

Ends:
There are two ends:
1) 9 arrows un-timed
2) Timed 45 seconds

Target:
Draw a Tic-Tac-Toe grid, then cut the corner squares in half diagonally to create an octagon. For the Spring shoot the squares should each be 20cm (60cm total target width). Lines should be fairly thick to be clearly visible.

Scoring:
Your score for each end is the sum of all the spaces that are left UN-HIT. Arrows breaking into more than one space (the white space itself, not the just touching the line) count in the archer`s favor (each arrow may only count toward one block). The blocks may be hit in any order for both the Timed and Un-timed rounds. There is no additional score for hitting a block more than once as your score is made up of the blocks that are not hit.

Example: In the top row the 1 is hit, in the middle row and arrow hit the line between the 9 and 4, plus the 3 is hit, in the bottom row the 7, 2, and 5 are all hit. In this example the number let UN-hit are the 6, 8, and 4 (as the arrow hitting the line between the 4 and 9 counts toward the archers favor, therefor hits the 9, leaving the 4 missed). The total for this round would be 18.

Bonus:
On the Timed round, after successfully hitting all nine spaces, with your remaining time you may attempt the Bonus to further reduce your score. Hit each space a second time counting up from one toward nine. This will score as that number but negative. Example: hit all blocks once in 32 seconds, with the clock still running use the remaining time to hit a second arrow in one, two, three, and four, this would score as -4 (highest consecutive number hit a second time). If the second hit on two missed then it would only score as -1 even if the three and four where hit (highest consecutive number hit with a second arrow was one). Likewise if when scoring you find out that the arrow you 'thought' hit the eight actually landed just outside, even though you hit 1, 2, and 3 a second time your score is actually positive 8 as per the normal rules as it was Un-hit.
