| Description |
Shoot consisting of 5 qualifying rounds and 1 finalist course. 18 archers participated in the shoot, 9 of whom were interested in becoming the Bryn Gwlad archery champion.
Qualifying rounds:
1: Ship Defense (combat archery target shoot). Up to 6 shots, 1 minute time limit.
Shooting at 3 Bob targets at ~15 yards from in front of a wooden ship.
2: Field shoot (target archery). Up to 6 shots, 45 sec. time limit.
Shooting at 3 soldier targets at ~20-30 yards.
Only 2 hits per target count.
3: Castle Assault (target archery). 3 shots. 45 sec. time limit.
Shooting at 3 soldier targets inside a fort from the doorway, ~10 yards.
Only 1 hit per target counts.
4: Castle Defense (combat archery target shoot). Up to 6 shots, 1 minute time limit.
Shooting from the wall of the fort down at a Bob target, ~15 yards.
5: Last Stand in the Cemetary (target archery). 3 shots, 1 minute time limit.
Archers shoot at 3 soldier targets from behind 3 pieces of cover. Must be in a non-standing position and change
position after every shot. Only 1 hit per target counts.
5 finalists were chosen based on the highest score. They then ran the finalist course with 4 stations:
Archers were required to attempt 1 shot at each target before moving on. They could choose to re-engage if they missed their
shot but couldn`t skip a shot. All archer were timed on the course - their final placing was determined by dividing their score by their time in seconds to get a score factor. Timing started on the marshal`s command and ended when their last shot struck its target.
1: Castle Escape (target). Engage 3 soldier targets at ~30-35 yards.
2: Castle Escape, part 2 (target). Engage 3 foam heads peeking over cover walls at ~10 yards.
3: Field shoot (target). Run to a firing line and engage 3 soldier targets at ~15 yards.
4: Boat defense (combat archery). Run to the boat, grab combat bow & ammo and engage 3 Bob targets at ~20 yards. |
