Grand Archery Tournament Shoot with a difficulty rating of: Handbow:1.00 |
Description |
General notes: Archers start with six arrows and can lose arrows throughout the shoot by missing on the 20 yard FITA rounds.
Archers always had at least these many arrows, based on their highest level archery award:
Non-armigerous/no award: Minimum of 3 arrows
AOA level award: Minimum of 2 arrows
Grant level award: Minimum of 1 arrow
Archers were scored on every round and then ranked for each shoot before being assigned a score from 6 to 1 based on their place in the ranking.
Round 1: 20 yard reverse FITA
Shoot: Reverse FITA
Scoring: Reverse FITA scoring
Notes: Any hits outside of the scoring zone would lose the archer an arrow.
Round 2: The Boar of Despair
Shoot: Archers started at the main firing line with their gear set up 25 yards down range by a second firing line. At the marshal`s call, they had 1 minute to move to the second line, grab their gear, and fire at a feral hog target as many times as they could (up to the limit of their arrows).
Scoring: 5 points (inner kill zone), 3 points (outer kill zone), 1 point (wound)
Notes: 100% hit rate got the archer back 1 arrow
Round 3: 20 yard reverse FITA
Shoot: Reverse FITA, yellow no longer counts as scoring. Heads on stakes were set up around 20 yards - hitting a head would get the archer back to 6 arrows but didn`t count as a score.
Scoring: Reverse FITA scoring (yellow is non-scoring)
Notes: Any hits outside of the scoring zone would lose the archer an arrow.
Round 4: The Troll`s Revenge
Shoot: An 8 foot tall troll was set up at about 35 yards for the archers to shoot at.
Scoring: Heart - 5 points, head - 3 points, anywhere else - 1 point
Notes: 100% hit rate got the archer back 1 arrow
Round 5: 20 yard reverse FITA
Shoot: Reverse FITA, yellow and red no longer count as scoring. Heads on stakes were set up around 8 yards - hitting a head would get the archer back to 6 arrows but didn`t count as a score.
Scoring: Reverse FITA scoring (yellow and red are non-scoring)
Notes: Any hits outside of the scoring zone would lose the archer an arrow.
Round 6: The Rat Cluster
Shoot: Archers readied on the line and a clump of 6 rat targets (pool noodle bits with black socks on them) was thrown out. Once the first rat hit the ground, the archer had 20 seconds to shoot as many as they could, up to the limit of their remaining arrows.
Scoring: 5 points per rat
Two archers tied for first place so they shot a variation of the troll at about 22 yards where a boar target was set between its legs. Hits to the boar counted for positive points and hits to the troll were negative, using the same scoring as the previous targets. |
