Greetings Fellow Archers of An Tir! I am Archos Johanna Trewpeny , a Target Archery Marshal of the Summits. I will be your faithful servant in providing a visible resource of scores past and present and Current Rankings, along with the creator of this wonderful site,
Sir Jonathas, who resides in the far Kingdom of Atlantia, and Archos Tymme Lytefelow, the An tir Archery Scores Deputy. Please let me know if:
- You are a new archer in An Tir and your name is not on this list
- Your name is listed with missing or misspelled information
- Your score in the Official List does not reflect your high score of all seasons.
- You have questions about the site that are not answered by the following information.
|
|
How are archery ranks determined? |
The rank for adults and minors 13 and over is determined by averaging their 3 highest Royal Round (RR) scores during the 12-month period from November 1 - October 31. The rank for youth age 12 and under is based on averaging their 2 highest scores. You earn a separate rank for each type of bow you use. Please refer to the An Tir Book of Target 2019 for more information on bow types and equipment.
Atalatal and Thrown Weapon scores are recorded on the An Tir Thrown Weapons page. See link to TW Scores Home in the column. |

How Score Lists Appear on AnTirScoresHome.
|
CURRENT list = this year/season Rank and # for each bow type. This is an OFFICIAL list for Each Season in AnTir, it also shows if a past higher score was shot. |
OFFICIAL rank = Best Score Ever(reported to site) including all seasons - for each bow type. |
-------If your best RR score was shot before 2009 or did not get reported to AnTirScores Home please let me know the Name, Year, Bowtype and Date Shot(if you know it) so that your name has its proper place in the list.
|
What`s a Royal Round? |
A Royal Round is the same for all Kingdoms and consists of four groups of shafts or bolts. For adults age 15 and up(as of November 1), the distances and times are:
- 6 shafts/bolts (no time limit) at 40 yards
- 6 shafts/bolts (no time limit) at 30 yards
- 6 shafts/bolts (no time limit) at 20 yards
- a 30-second timed shoot at 20 yards (as many shafts/bolts as you can Safely shoot in the 30 seconds)
Please note that the distances for youth and children under the age of 12 are different.

|
What scores may be reported? |
Shoot as many rounds as you want at a published event or practice. The event s scorekeeper will submit your single highest score for each day, for each type of bow you use, for each type of shoot. (Youth under age 12 may have two scores submitted on the same day). The rankings are continuously updated within 48 hours of submission, and you can look at all of your scores, including those from prior competition years.

|
What happens when I earn a new rank? |
You will be awarded an An Tir archery medallion, following the custom in your local area. Some Baronies may award this at Court; others may allow the Baronial Archer to award the badge. In some locations the badges are awarded repeatedly, in others only the first time you earn them. The badge, border colors, and scoring average for each rank are: |

What shows up in the reports? |
Since this is an interactive database, the reports are many and awesome. The complete lists show everyone kingdom wide or region-wide by bow type and adult or youth division. You can also look at every archer in a specific barony, shire, or canton. By clicking on the number next to an archer`s name, a list of all shoots in the database for that archer appears. These can be sorted by date, shoot name, marshal, highest scores at the various distances, and total RR scores. In addition, there is a line that shows the archer`s potential highest score. You can retrieve scores older than a year...they are never lost, even though they are not included in the calculation of the current rankings. |

How do Marshals submit scores? |
Warranted Marshals may submit scores directly to this page. If you are a marshal and want to use this site, email me. I will verify you are a marshal by looking at the Kingdom list of warranted marshals on antirlists.org, and send you authorization to submit scores through this site. There is even a Simple Guide to submitting scores (PDF) to walk you through getting your first scores in quickly. |
|
Can Marshals use this site to submit Royal Round scores to the annual An Tir Top Ten competition? |
Yes! When a marshal submits scores to this site, a copy is automatically emailed to the Royal Archer s Archery Score Deputy. |

Johann Fairhand's 5 range rules
- Safe: Be safe, look out for yourself and others.
- Fun: It's why we are here. As long as it's safe, then have fun.
- Find all your arrows: Best way is to put them in the target.
- Record and turn in a score: Do not spend your whole life on the 20 yard line. Better for your group too if scores are tuned in.
- Compete with yourself: The idea is to be a better archer and person then you were yesterday.
Go ahead and enter competitions. You might win & you will have fun if you don't get uptight about score. I tell people that if you did not get hurt, you had fun, and you find your arrows then it is a winning day ;-) score is a bonus.
