Grand Archery Tournament Shoot with a difficulty rating of: Crossbow:10.55 Handbow:6.18 |
Description |
The object is to shoot a thin vertical target consisting of either an actual wand, or a suitable substitute.
Please read the SSAC General Rules, as these apply to all SSAC shoots. Below are the additional rules for this specific shoot.
Target:
The target is a length of 1x2 (actual scoring width 3/4`) with a marked 3` long scoring area OR a 3`x3/4` piece of contrasting tape on a target face or butt.
If using the wooden wand, it should be placed 3 feet in front of any backstop system used to prevent any confusion over canted arrows leaning against the wand.
The wooden wands need to be secured someway, preferably a portable hole, or actually driven into the ground. They should have a clearly defined scoring area 3` in length.
The tape substitutes should be clearly marked as 3` long and 3/4` wide.
Running the Shoot:
The wand shoot starts at 15 yds for adults. 3 arrows are shot each round. A minimum of 1 hit is required to advance to the next range.
Ranges:
Adult Ranges are 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 yds.
Youth Ranges are 10, 10, 15, 15, 20, and 20 yds.
Scoring:
1 Point is scored for each wand strike within the marked 3` scoring area.
For wand substitutes, such as tape, cutting the tape is required. For wooden wands, a visual brush is acceptable (ie. someone actually saw it connect with the wand on the way by.)
A Bonus of 1 point for each successfully completed end is also awarded.
A perfect score would be: 24 points
